Dr Jennifer Redmond of Maynooth University will deliver a seminar as part of the UCD Gender History seminar series. The paper is titled: “Stay at home and fight for your country”: Valour and migration in Revolutionary Ireland.

Dr Jennifer Redmond is Assistant Professor in Twentieth Century Irish History in the Department of History at Maynooth University. She is a graduate of UCD History. She served as president of the Women's History Association of Ireland, 2014-2017. Her monograph Moving Histories: Irish Women’s Emigration to Britain from Independence to Republic was published by Liverpool University Press in 2018 and was longlisted for the 2020 Michel Déon Prize. This paper draws upon her IRC New Foundations project on Irish masculinities in the revolutionary era which resulted in a special issue of Irish Studies Review in 2021.
